As a ruler "in Chechens", endowed by representatives of the Turkic-speaking population with the title biy, and at the same time a participant in the anti-royal uprising of Istek-sultan (Bashkir Murad Kuchukov), he is mentioned for the first time, and in Russian archival materials, under 1708 [1] [2] . In 1720, the ruler of the Argun lands, subordinate to the 17th century Turlov, was "a prince named Tirlaev son", who was then "in a place called Buyuk-Kent" [3] [4] [5] [6] (translated from Türk “Large settlement”), - apparently, in a large settlement Chechenaul - but at the same time controlling seven, at least, “townships”, where villages and “villages” stood. The proper name of Tirlai is not recorded, however, in the names of any noble families of the Northeast Caucasus, and therefore his own name, noted here, has long been and, it seems, is rightly considered a technical distortion on behalf of “Turlav” [7] . The order of nominating any of the Turlovs to the rulers of Gumbet and Chechnya, - for the position of senior prince - who was able to be traced here by the example of other individuals from the dynasty being dismantled, suggests that this son of Turlaw (son of Zagashtuk) mentioned by 1720 was most likely Prince Amirhamza.

Around 1728, Amirhamza died. He was succeeded by his second cousin Hasbulat .
