Geography
It is located 68 km northeast of Slyudyanka I station on the site of the former village of Ulanovo . Previously called Coniferous [3] .
History
- In 1905 the line of the Circum-Baikal Railway Baikal - Slyudyanka II was put into operation.
- In 1956, the Irkutsk - Baikal line was decommissioned due to its flooding by the waters of the Irkutsk reservoir , a deadlock branch Baikal - Slyudyanka was formed.
- As of 2015, passenger trains run on the Circum-Baikal Railway several times a week, from time to time sightseeing trains pass.
The current name of the station was assigned in 1933 in honor of the chairman of the Marituysky Council, Commissioner Nikolai Ulanov. In 1918, he tried to blow up tunnel No. 18 bis. When disembarking from a boat in the village of Marituy, he was killed by the whites, and was buried in the cemetery there. It is known that together with his father he built the Circum-Baikal Railway since 1902.
