One of the organizers and leaders of the struggle of the Highlanders for Soviet power in the North Caucasus . He was a member of the special trio of the NKVD of the USSR .

Biography
He was born in 1893 in the village of Atazhukino III of the Terek Region (now the village of Cuba, Baksan District, Kabardino-Balkaria ) into a peasant family. By nationality Kabardian [1] .
Since 1907 he worked as a laborer . In 1913 he was one of the leaders of the uprising of the Highlanders against the local aristocracy . In 1915/16, he created and led the illegal peasant organization Karakhalk (Poverty). In March 1918 he joined the RCP (b) . Since March 1918, a member of the Terek People’s Council, one of the leaders of the 1st Congress of the Nalchik District, which proclaimed Soviet power in Kabardino-Balkaria . Since August 1918, the Extraordinary Commissioner of Kabardino-Balkaria and the Commissioner for Nationalities of the Terek Region. In 1919 he commanded partisan detachments, then a regiment , a division . In 1919, his father, Edyg Dautovich, and his younger brother Nazir were shot by the White Guards in Nalchik [2] .
Since March 1920, Chairman of the Revolutionary Committee, Oblast Executive Committee of Kabardino-Balkaria . In 1921-1924, he led the punitive operations in the Caucasus, when under the guise of combating banditry all the people suspicious of the new government were destroyed.
Since 1930, 1st Secretary of the Kabardino-Balkarian Regional Committee of the CPSU (B.) . Since 1937, deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR . This period was marked by the inclusion of a special troika created by order of the NKVD of the USSR dated 30.07.1937 No. 00447 [3] and active participation in the Stalinist repressions [4] .
Arrest and death
Arrested on November 12, 1938 on charges of creating a counter-revolutionary organization in Kabardino-Balkaria in 1927 and preparing terrorist attacks [5] . February 26, 1940 sentenced to death. On February 27, the sentence was executed - executed [6] . Burial place: Don cemetery , grave 1. Rehabilitated in 1954 .
