Biography
Born January 17, 1902 in a peasant family. Chuvash . He worked in agriculture.
In the army since 1919 . Member of the civil war . In 1920, he graduated from military engineering courses, in 1926 - the Moscow military engineering school, in 1932 - the Military Technical Academy .
Member of the campaign of Soviet troops in Western Ukraine and Western Belarus in 1939 . Member of the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940 .
On the fronts of World War II since 1941 . He distinguished himself when crossing the Dnieper south of Kiev in late September - early October 1943 . He skillfully and courageously led the army’s engineering troops, which ensured the seizure of bridgeheads on the right bank of the river.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 23, 1943, for the courage and heroism shown in battles, Colonel Petrov Anton Petrovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 1845).
After the war he continued to serve in the army. He was the head of the faculty of the Military Engineering Academy . Since 1962, Major General of the Engineering Troops A.P. Petrov, retired.
He lived in Moscow . He died on April 21, 1982 . He was buried in Moscow in the closed columbarium of the Vagankovsky cemetery .
