History
March 3, 1936 - foundation of the Kamensk-Uralsky Foundry [1] . The enterprise was created by a resolution of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR , adopted at the end of 1939 . Construction of the plant began in the spring of 1940 . It was planned to finish it in five years. However, the beginning of the Great Patriotic War made its own adjustments. In Kamensk-Uralsky , the Balashikha Foundry and Mechanical Plant , producing wheels and control units for aircraft, was evacuated. This accelerated the launch of a new plant. Already in March 1942, KULZ produced the first products for the front — aircraft wheels for the Li-2 transport aircraft.
After the war ended, the plant began serial production of new brake wheels for the Yak-18 and Il-12 aircraft . At the same time, almost half of the capacities were transferred to the manufacture of consumer goods, including pans, meat grinders, blocks for making felt boots, motorbikes for motorcycles.
In 1962, the plant was tasked with the development of products for new types of aircraft, both military and civilian. KULZ again became primarily an aircraft factory.
By the nineties, he became the only manufacturer in the USSR of brake systems and take-off and landing devices for helicopters, fighters and small aircraft. Significant volumes of civil aviation were transferred to him. In the early nineties, 80 percent of the structure of factory products occupied the state order.
After the restructuring, the plant switched to the production of various products, including for the fuel and energy complex - RAO UES and Gazprom .
In 2008, the plant became part of the Uralvagonzavod Scientific Industrial Corporation. Having retained the aviation focus, he mastered the production of friction disks for the Uralvagonzavod armored vehicles.
From 2014 to 2018 the foundry has implemented an investment program for the reconstruction of the production of friction discs from cermets, aimed at import substitution. He also updated infrastructure facilities: a modern boiler house, a hydrogen station were built, and a nitrogen station appeared.
In March 2018, KULZ became a part of the Technodynamics holding of Rostec State Corporation. The holding includes 36 Russian factories and research institutes of the aviation and space industries. His competencies lie in the development, production and after-sales service of systems and assemblies for aviation and space applications.
In early 2019, as part of Technodynamics, it entered the Dynamics group of companies specializing in the development, production and after-sales service of a wide range of products for the aviation and space industries, as well as a number of other sectors of the economy.
Now KULZ produces brake systems and wheels for many aircraft of military and civil aviation in Russia, fulfills orders for the production of parts for rocket technology, gas and electrical equipment, and also produces cast automobile wheels. no longer produces car wheels
