History
These places have a very ancient history, people have lived here since ancient times.
Jingxing County was established in 1369.
In October 1937, these places were occupied by Japanese troops during the Sino-Chinese War , and the county was divided along the railway line into the northern and southern parts. After the war in 1948, both parts of the county were reunited.
In 1949, the Shijiazhuang Special District (石家庄 专区) was formed, and the county became part of it. In November 1958, the neighboring Shulu county was annexed to the Jingxing county, and in December of the same year the county was disbanded, and the Chingxing and Shulu Shijiazhuang districts were formed on its territory. In March 1960, the districts were again merged into Jingxing County (within the borders of 1958), and in June of the same year, Shulu County was again allocated from Jingxing County. In May 1961, the Shijiazhuang Special District was recreated; at the same time, Shulu again became part of Jingxing, and in 1962 Shulu and Jingxing were separated again. In 1963, from the county to the separate administrative unit, the Jingxing coal mining district was separated. In November 1967, the Shijiazhuang Special District was renamed Shijiazhuang District (石家庄 地区).
At the end of 1983, Jingxing County was again transferred to the jurisdiction of the city of Shijiazhuang. In 1993, by a resolution of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Shijiazhuang District and Shijiazhuang City were merged into Shijiazhuang City District.
