Italic came from Canusia or Northern Italy. During the war in 69, the Flavians supported the imperial power. During the reign of Emperor Vespasian, he served as a tribune of the people. For merits in the war against the Hutts, he was awarded the emperor Domitian. From 84/85 to 86/87, he was governor of the province of Lycia and Pamphylia . In 90, Italik was in the position of consul-effect .
Probably, Italik was the author of the poem "The Latin Iliad", written under Nero , as it is known that its author wore the cognomen Italic . In this work, the influence of Greek poetry is noticeable. However, it is difficult to fully appreciate this work due to the fact that only a few passages have been preserved.
