Peat - a railway station in the Moscow direction of the St. Petersburg branch of the October Railway [2] . It is located on the territory of the Assumption rural settlement of the Chudovsky municipal district of the Novgorod region in the village at the Torfyanoe station , near the northeastern outskirts of the village of Pridorozhnaya , 800 m to the northeast of the M10 ( E 105 ) and 1.5 km to the southeast from the A115 highway .

The name of the station and the village at the station comes from the village of Torfyanoe , located 1.3 km to the north-east.
At the station, all electric trains passing through it stop , with the exception of the accelerated train No. 711/712 St. Petersburg - Bologoe - St. Petersburg. For some flights from St. Petersburg, the station is the terminal. Also at the station, the branded double-decker train No. 005A St. Petersburg - Moscow stops (technical stop, lasting 12 minutes, no passengers are boarding and disembarking).
