Biography
Oleg Bychok was born on September 18, 1921 in the village of Bobrovitsa (now Chernihiv Oblast of Ukraine ) in a working-class family.
In 1939 he graduated from ten classes of secondary school, was a worker.
In 1940 he was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In the same year joined the VKP (b) [1] .
In 1941, Bull-calf graduated from an infantry school [2] in Buynaksk . Since the beginning of World War II - on its fronts [1] .
On September 26, 1941 near Smolensk, as part of a detachment, crossed the front line and took part in the first partisan battles in the German rear. He participated in the defeat of the garrison in the village of Red Lug and other operations in the Smolensk, Vitebsk and Kalinin regions, in November 1941, as part of a detachment, he went to the location of Soviet troops through the front line [2] .
In March 1942, as part of the "Third" detachment of the NKVD of the BSSR (from June 1943 - the Dzerzhinsky detachment) [3] The calf was sent to the enemy rear. In April 1942, in the vicinity of the Usviaty station, the detachment crossed the front line and began to operate in groups in the Polotsk-Vitebsk-Orsha-Lepel area (a group of O.S. Bychka equipped a camp near the Dretun station and engaged in sabotage on the railway between Nevel and Polotsk) [2] . Initially, he was commissar of the detachment, from July 1943 - commander [1] .
In early May 1944 , in a battle near the Aleshcha station, under enemy fire, he carried out a wounded partisan G. Gulevich [2] .
Goby took an active part in partisan operations. During the fighting activity of the detachment, its fighters destroyed 69 trains, more than 4 kilometers of the railway, 16 bridges, 6 warehouses, a power station, a large number of enemy soldiers and officers. May 7, 1944 in the course of the next special task to undermine the strategically important railway bridge, Bychok died. He was buried in the village of Lipovo, Myadel district, Minsk region .
In 1946 , his remains were transported to Bobrovitsa and buried in its central square [1] .
Memory
A street in Bobrovitsa [1] and in the town of Myadel was named in honor of Oleg Bychka.
In May 1964 , a memorial plaque was erected in the village of Lipovo in honor of Oleg Bychka, at the opening of which his mother, Evdokia Ivanovna, came.
Awards
- By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 5, 1944, for the "skilful leadership of the operations of the operational-KGB group in the rear of the enemy and personal courage and heroism shown by this", Senior State Lieutenant Oleg Bychok was posthumously awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union [1]
