CD64 ( eng. Cluster of Differentiation 64 ) - membrane protein , glycoprotein, Fc receptor for monomeric immunoglobulins of IgG isotype with high affinity. [1] It is designated as Fc gamma receptor 1 (FcγRI). After IgG binding, the CD64 protein interacts with the gamma chain (γ chain), in which the ITAM motif is located, which triggers cellular activation. [2] There are 3 types of CD64: CD64A , CD64B and CD64C .
Content
Structure
CD64 consists of a signal peptide, 3 extracellular immunoglobulin domains of type C2 , which bind immunoglobulin, and a short cytoplasmic fragment. [3]
Tissue specificity
CD64 is constantly expressed only on macrophages and monocytes . It can be expressed on granulocytes after cell activation by cytokines, such as interferon-gamma IFNγ and G-CSF . [4] [5]
The presence of CD64 on the surface of neutrophils is a sign of infection and sepsis. [6]
Types
In humans, there are 3 similar proteins CD64: FcγRIA (CD64A), FcγRIB (CD64B) and FcγRIC (CD64C), all three of which are localized on chromosome 1 . [7]
