Pivchenkova Street History
Pivchenkova Street was named on May 9, 1961 , on Victory Day , in memory of V. T. Pivchenkov (1919-1944) - commander of the rifle battalion, Hero of the Soviet Union , who died in battle, a resident of the village of Mazilovo , whose house was located near the current Pivchenkova street . The street had no previous name, since shortly before the construction of a new street, named after V. T. Pivchenkov, the last inhabitants of the village of Mazilovo moved out of here. He worked as V. T. Pivchenkov at a machine-building plant in the village of Fili (now the Khrunichev State Space Research and Production Center ). The numbering of the houses on Pivchenkova Street comes from Gerasim Kurin Street. From June 23, 2017 Pivchenkova Street became one-way towards Gerasim Kurin Street.
