Martin Grabman ( English Martin Grabmann ; January 5, 1875 , Winterkhofen , Bavaria - January 9, 1949 , Eichstätt ) is a German theologian and scholar of scholasticism .

Biography
After receiving theological and philosophical education at the Eikhstatt seminary in 1898, he was ordained a priest .
In 1900 he was sent to Rome for further education with a specialization in medieval theology. In 1902, for the essay "Teaching of sv. Thomas Aquinas about the Church as God's work ”(Die Lehre des hl. Thomas von Aquin von der Kirche als Gotteswerk, Ratisbon 1903) received a doctorate in theology from the College of St. Thomas. After training in Rome, he was appointed parish priest in Aikhshtet, where he continued his studies and publications. In the end, his pursuit of scientific activity was appreciated, and he was called for an academic career. Grabman became a professor of dogma at Einstadt (1906–1913), Christian philosophy of the University of Vienna (1913–1918), and dogma of the Munich University (1918–1939; 1945–1948). Thanks to the painstaking research of original materials, he discovered the lost works of Seeger of Brabant , Albert the Great , Peter of Spain, Boethius of Sweden, Pierre Abelard and Meister Eckhart .
Grabman's main interest was focused on the writings of Thomas Aquinas , the development of scholasticism, aristotelianism , Thomism, and German mysticism. Grabman received an honorary doctorate from the universities of Louvain, Innsbruck, Milan and Budapest.
Member of the American Academy of Medieval Studies (1928) [3] .
In 1935, Pius XII made him an apostolic protonotary .
In 1954, his student M. Schmaus founded the Grabman Institute at the University of Munich to study medieval philosophy and theology.
