Biography
The representative of the Polish noble family Firleev coat of arms " Levart ". The only son of the judge and clerk of the amateur land, Pyotr Firlei from Dombrovitsy (d. 1499 ) and the Jadwigs of the Osmulsky coat of arms Boncha .
He served as the great hetman of the crown from 1515 to 1526 . There was also: a coroner of Krakow and the headman of Lublin , castellan of Lublin in 1502-1520 , coughing of Krakowsky from 1520 , governor of Lublin in 1507-1514 and after the governor of Sandomierz (1514-1526).
In 1485, Nikolai Firlei was a nobleman at the court of the Polish King Casimir IV Jagiellonian. In the following 1486 he participated in the embassy to the German Emperor Frederick III. In 1487 he took part in the campaign of Prince Jan I Albrecht against the Tatars and participated in the battle of Coperstin. In 1489 and 1502, he was ambassador to the court of the Ottoman Sultan . In 1497 he participated in the unsuccessful military campaign of King Jan Albrecht to Bukovina. In 1499, Nikolai Firlei took part in the signing of a new union between Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania
Married to Anna Meletskaya, coat of arms Grif , sister of the coughtower of the swirling Stanislaw Meletsky (d. 1532 ), from whom he had two sons and three daughters:

- Nikolai Firlei (d. 1519 )
- Katarzyna Firlei (d. After 1545), wife from 1515 of the casselman of the Sadetsky Stanislav Tarnovsky (c. 1478-1528 / 1530)
- Barbara Firlei, wife of Zbigniew Slupetskiy
- Anna Firlei, wife of Jan Lezajsky
