Gaocheng ( Chinese р 城 п , pinyin : Gàochéng ) is the urban subordination district of Shijiazhuang City District, Hebei Province ( PRC ).

History
The county in these places was created under the Western Han Empire in 113 BC. e., and more than once merged with other counties and separated from them.
After the formation of the PRC in 1949, Gaocheng County became part of the Shijiazhuang Special Region. In November 1958, Wuji (无极) and Luancheng (栾 城) counties were attached to Gaocheng County, but since January 1962 all three counties have been restored to their former borders.
In July 1989, Gaocheng County was upgraded to a city county.
By a resolution of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China of September 9, 2014, the city district of Gaocheng was transformed into an area of city subordination.
