Monument to deported Poles in Hamburg-Neuengamme by J. de Verig-Vysochansky

Jan de Veriga-Vysochansky (Polish Jan de Weryha-Wysoczański , born 1950 Gdansk ) is a modern Polish sculptor working in the field of specific art .

Life and work

In 1976, J. de Veriga-Vysochansky completed his studies as a sculptor at the Academy of Arts in Gdansk, where he entered in 1971. Engaged in the workshops of prof. A. Vishnevsky and A. Smolyany. Since 1981, he lives and works in Hamburg. In 1998, she won the first prize - the Jury Prize at the Spring Salon-98, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Luxembourg. In 1999, de Veriga-Vysochansky received an order to carry out a monument to the memory of participants in the Warsaw Uprising of 1944 sent to the Neuengamme concentration camp , installed in the Hamburg-Neuengamme area. In 2012, de Veriga-Vysochansky receives an order to complete the monument to the memory of the Ostarbeiters in Hamburg.

A significant number of works by Y.de Verig-Vysochansky are collected in Polish museums - the Museum of Sculpture of the city of Oronsko, the National Museum of Szczecin, the Museum of Modern Art of Radom. Veriga-Vysochansky in 2006 takes part in the XV International Sculptural Triennial in Poznan; exhibitions of his works in the 1980s - 2000s are held in various cities of the USA, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Poland and other countries.
