Content
AppearanceThe body length is 13 cm. The color of the plumage is green, in the lower part of the body with a malachite sheen. The sides of the head, forehead and throat are yellowish. Bottom covering feathers of the wing and secondary primary blue. In young birds, as in females , there is no blue color.
SpreadThey live in the northwest and west of Mexico .
LifestyleLive in flocks in subtropical and tropical dry forests . They feed on various seeds, berries, fruits, young shoots of plants, eat insects and larvae.
ReproductionIn the breeding season form pairs. Nest in the hollows of trees. The female lays up to 4 eggs . Mason incubates female, male brings her food. After 3 weeks of hatching, the chicks are also fed by a male.
