On September 23, 2011, ORF announced that there would be no change in the selection process. [1] Hitradio Ö3 will still play a very important role in national selection. [2]
On November 30, 2011, ORF announced 9 artists who will participate in the national finals of the Österreich rockt den Song Contest , which will take place on February 24, 2012. The tenth finalist was selected thanks to an open song contest. Any interested contractor could submit his application before the end of December. As a result, more than 100 tracks were provided. On January 9, 2012, ORF announced the tenth finalist of the Österreich rockt den Song Contest. They became the Mary Broadcast Band.
