Appearance
Body length 12-12.5 cm. The main color of the plumage is green. The crown is gray, the back is green-gray, the sacrum and the edges of the wings are blue, the tail is green. The beak is light gray, the iris is brown. Females lack a blue color on the wings and on the sacrum.

Distribution
They live from Ecuador to Peru and in the western part of South America .
Lifestyle
Inhabit subtropical and tropical forests .
Reproduction
The female lays from 4 to 6 eggs . After 3 weeks, chicks appear, and after another month they fledge and fly out of the nest.
