The coat of arms was approved by Decision No. 2 of the Menzelinsk City Council on June 13, 2006 . [one]

The emblem is entered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under registration number 2541 and in the State Heraldic Register of the Republic of Tatarstan under No. 62.

The description is given in accordance with the Regulation [2] on the coat of arms of Menezelinsk:

“The coat of arms of the city of Menzelinsk was developed on the basis of the historical coat of arms of the county town of Menzelinsk. It was highly approved on July 3, 1782 (according to the old style) .

“In the upper part of the shield is the coat of arms of Ufimsk. In the lower - flying gyrfalcon, in the sign of the abundance of such a kind of bird, in the blue field “.

The emblem emphasizes the historical continuity and connection of many generations of people living on Menzelinsky land.

A flying bird in heraldry is a symbol of exalted aspirations, foresight, spirituality.

Azure (blue, blue) - a symbol of honor, nobility, clear sky.

Gold is a symbol of wealth, stability, respect and intelligence. ”

Coat of Arms History

Ostrog Menzelinsk was founded in 1584 .

In 1781, by decree of Catherine II, Menzelinsk received the status of the county town of Ufa governorship .

The coat of arms of the city of Menzelinsk was highly approved on June 8, 1782 by Empress Catherine II, together with other emblems of the cities of Ufa governorate (PSZRI, 1781, Law No. 15427) [3]

In the law, a genuine description of the coat of arms of Menzelinsk read:

“A flying golden gyrfalcon, a sign of an abundance of such a kind of bird in a blue field”
In the upper part of the shield is the emblem of the local city of Ufa : “The running marten in the silver field”.

The coat of arms of Menzelinsk was drawn up in the Department of the Heraldry under the Senate under the leadership of the heraldmeister , real state adviser A.A. Volkov .

In 1796, Menzelinsk became part of the Orenburg province .

According to unconfirmed archives, the data cited by A. V. Kudin, A. L. Tsekhanovich in the directory “Coats of arms of cities, provinces, regions and towns of the Russian Empire. 1649-1917. ”On December 30, 1839, a new coat of arms of Menzelinsk was approved: “ In the upper part is the coat of arms of the Orenburg province. At the bottom in a silver field on a green mountain is a golden gyrfalcon. ” [four]

In 1865, Menzelinsk again moved to the Ufa province.

In 1874, during the Köhne heraldic reform, a draft of the new coat of arms of the county town of Menzelinsk was developed (not officially approved):

“There are three golden bird wings in the azure shield: 2 and 1. In the free part, the emblem of the Ufa province. The shield is crowned with a silver walled crown and is surrounded by golden ears of corn connected by the Alexander ribbon . ”

In the Soviet period, the historical emblem of Menzelinsk was not used.

In 1981, according to the project of N. N. Khabibullin, a new coat of arms of Menzelinsk was developed (not officially approved). The emblem project was as follows: “The emblem is a French-style shield with a half-wavy belt (the upper boundary of the belt is straight and the lower is wavy) of green color. Green color represents forest richness. The upper field of the coat of arms is blue, and the lower is blue. In the upper part of the coat of arms (on the belt and in the blue field) there is an image of a part of a gear and an ear made in silver, symbolizing the agricultural region. At the bottom in a blue field is a silver flying hawk , symbolizing the strength and glory of the area. A blue field with a wave in the upper part symbolizes the environment of Menzelinsk with the Nizhnekamsk reservoir . ”

In 1994, a souvenir badge was issued with the project of the coat of arms of Menzelinsk. The project repeated the 1981 version, but the emblem of the Republic of Tatarstan was placed in the free part of the shield and the main field of the shield turned green.

On June 13, 2006, a new coat of arms of Menzelinsk was approved based on the historical coat of arms (1782).

The reconstruction of the coat of arms was carried out by the group of authors of the Heraldic Council under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the Union of Heraldists of Russia consisting of:

Ramil Khairutdinov (Kazan), Radik Salikhov (Kazan), Konstantin Mochenov (Khimki), Robert Malanichev (Moscow), Kirill Peregoenko (Konakovo), Oksana Afanasyeva (Moscow).

On November 24, 2006, by the decision of the Council of the Menzelinsky municipal district, the emblem of the Menzelinsky region was approved.

The coat of arms of the Menzelinsky municipal district was also taken as the historical emblem of the county town of Menzelinsk (1782). The coat of arms of the district differs from the current city coat of arms of Menzelinsk with a red chapter.
