The Belgian Grand Prix returned to the championship calendar after a year's lack of updated: the boxes were rebuilt, the pit lane was extended, and the cover was re-laid throughout the course.
The victory in the race won the British pilot Tony Brooks on Vanwall . For him, this victory was the first "sole", as he won a victory in the British Grand Prix in 1957, together with Moss . The second finished his compatriot Mike Hawthorne on the Ferrari 246 F1 , and the third place was taken by teammate Brooks on the team Stuart Lewis-Evans , for whom this finish was the best in his career. In this race, the woman also started for the first time (and also finished) - Maria Theresa de Filippis behind the wheel of a private Maserati 250F finished tenth and last, in two laps behind the leader.
Leading circles: Tony Brooks 21 laps (1, 3, 6-24); Peter Collins 3 laps (2, 4-5).
