Distribution

Most species of this family are endemic to Australia . The genus Centrocalia is endemic to New Caledonia , and two species of the genus Lampona ( L. cylindrata , L. murina ) are also found in New Zealand . The spider Lampona papua is an endemic of New Guinea , there are also two Australian species ( Centrothele mutica , Lamponova wau ).
