In the World Cup, Dahl made his debut in 2001 , in December 2009 he won his first, and so far the only victory at the World Cup stage, in the sprint. In addition to this, today he has 12 hits in the top three at the stages of the World Cup, 8 in personal competitions and 4 in team competitions. Dahl's best achievement in the overall World Cup standings is 16th in the 2008–09 season.
During his career he took part in one of the world championships , at the world championship in 2009 was the 15th in free sprint.
