The first generation 200 is the updated and improved successor to the 2010 Chrysler Sebring .
200 is built on the same platform as its predecessor, but it has undergone significant cosmetic and technical changes. Although a 2.4-liter l4 with a 4- or 6-speed transmission was used on the Sebring, in addition to them was added a 3.6-liter V6 , supplied only with a 6-speed automatic. Other changes include a stiffer body, a revised suspension, softened springs, a new rear anti-roll bar and upgraded wheels. In addition, he received innovations such as an LED monitor, seats with high quality materials and improved cushioning, and new measures were taken to reduce noise, vibration and stiffness.
200 began to be produced at a factory in Sterling Heights, Michigan ; in December 2010, the first cars were already available at dealerships. A two-door convertible with the same technical filling was added to the lineup at the beginning of 2011. There are 4 complete sets available - “LX” (only with 4-speed automatic), “TOURING”, “LIMITED” with 2.4-liter engines and “S” with a 3.6-liter analogue, sold since 2011 (last 3 configuration - with a 6-speed automatic transmission).
For the first time, as a concept car with a hybrid installation called the 200C, the car was introduced in 2009 at the North American International Auto Show . It was based on the Chrysler 300 and could drive not only with regular gasoline, but also with hybrid fuel or electricity. However, while Chrysler chief sales officer Stephen Landry announced that the car would go on sale, Fiat's chief executive officer (Fiat is Chrysler's main shareholder) Sergio Marchionne said this was impractical.
In Europe, from 2012 to 2014, the car was sold as Lancia Flavia [1] . However, under this name only a convertible was sold, the sedan was sold only in the UK and Ireland .
Changing the name from Sebring to 200 made a significant difference in sales. Edmunds magazine said in this regard that "the change in the name of the mid-size Chrysler sedan made buyers think of it as the younger brother of the flagship Chrysler 300, " since the 300 was released almost at the same time. The magazine also said that the name change “also has an additional advantage, distancing it from its predecessor, a car known for its quality and prevalence”
Second Generation
It was shown on January 13, 2014 at the Detroit Auto Show [2] .
