The Order “Carlos Manuel de Sespedes” is a state award of the Republic of Cuba , one of the three highest orders, along with the orders “Jose Marti” and “Playa Chiron” .

Content
History
The Order is named after the national hero Carlos Manuel Cespedes , a key figure in the Ten Years War and a fighter for the independence of Cuba from the Spanish colonialists.
Established by Decree No. 486 of 04/18/1926, amended by Law No. 586 of 10/07/1959. Entry into the new award system was confirmed by Decree-Law No. 30 of the State Council of the Republic of Cuba "On Awards, Honors and Insignia" dated 10.12. 1979 In the hierarchy of Cuban orders is number 2.
It is awarded to Cuban and foreign citizens, heads of state and government, political, state and other prominent figures of foreign states for their merits in the national liberation struggle, displaying solidarity with the Cuban revolution, and a great contribution to peace.
Description
The obverse is made in the form of a five-pointed star with rays covered with white enamel, with gold and red rays. In the center of the star there is a round medallion with the image of Carlos Manuel de Cespedes and the inscription “ CARLOS MANUEL DE CESPEDES 1868 ” in diameter [1] .
The sign is attached with an eyelet to a pentagonal block covered with silk moire ribbon with stripes of blue (1/2 wide), red, white and blue (1/6 of widening).
