Born in the family of a salesman Charles Kurtis Watkins III and a mother photographer ^[1] in Kansas City , Kansas . His ancestors were from Wales . There is a younger sister, Courtney (born in 1968) ^[2] . So he studied at Indiana University ^[2] .

Watkins is an open homosexual . He cumed out in an interview with Mary Osmond in April 2013. Currently, the actor brings up two twin children, the daughter of Katchen and the son of Curtis, born to a surrogate mother ^{[3] [4] [5] [6]} .
