History
On July 1, 1937, Pope Pius XI issued the bull Quo maiores , which was established by the Apostolic Vicariate of Yizhou, separating it from the Apostolic Vicariate of Qingdao (today - the Diocese of Qingdao ).
On April 11, 1946, Pope Pius XII issued the bull Quotidie Nos , which transformed the Yizhou Apostolic Vicariate into the diocese of Linyi.
