In 1965-1969 he studied at the geophysical department of the Mining Institute , for three years he worked at the Western Geophysical Trust. Attended LITO at the newspaper "Leninsky Sparks", as well as "Narva Gate" and LITO under the direction of G. Semenov .

In 1972-1978 he was engaged in journalism. From 1979 to 1990, he worked as a guard and operator of a gas boiler house. He was a member of the "Club 81".

Since 1981, he has been experimenting with the so-called "polyfonosemantika" - individual poetics, based on the simultaneous sounding of several semantic layers in the text due to the wide use of homonyms and homophones. Winner of the literary prize of Andrei Bely (1991) and the International Mark named after David Burliuk .

In 1991, he headed the literary and art magazine "Labyrinth-Eccentre" (St. Petersburg - Yekaterinburg), in 1993-1994. deputy chief editor of the almanac " Draft " (New York). In 1994-1997 worked as an editor at the publishing house "Verb". Later he collaborated with the publishing house " New Literary Review ", in 2002-2004. the author of the television program "Untouchable Stock", which represented the books of the publishing house on the humanities

C 2007 engaged in poetic animation. Author of 4 animated films based on his own poems.
