Endemic to Madagascar family [3] . They live mainly in forest rivers, streams and marshes in the eastern and central parts of the island ( Rheocles derhami is found in the northeast of Madagascar) [3] [4] [5] . The natural populations of Bedotiidae are under serious threat due to the destruction of their habitats due to intensive deforestation and the rapid deforestation of the island . Representatives of this family are reliable indicators of ecosystem health and stability, since it is their populations that are usually the first to decrease in number or disappear altogether in areas where the natural environment is exposed to human impact [6] .
