Explanatory-combinatorial dictionary - a dictionary of a special type, one of the main components of the language model in the theory "Meaning ⇔ Text" .
Separate fragments of the explanatory and combinatorial dictionary of the Russian language were created by a group of linguists led by I. A. Melchuk in the 1960-1970s; Yu. D. Apresyan’s participation in the work was especially valuable (according to Melchuk in article [1] , p. 2); published in 1984 in Vienna .
In the 1980s, also under the guidance of I. A. Melchuk, work began on the Explanatory-Combinatorial Dictionary of the French Language. Four volumes of Dictionnaire explicatif et combinatoire du français contemporain were published, respectively, in 1984, 1988, 1992, 1999. For more than twenty years of work, 510 words of the French language have been described.
Building
The dictionary entry in the explanatory-combinatorial dictionary consists of 10 zones:
- morphological information;
- stylistic litter;
- interpretation (often using variables indexing related concepts, for example: speed = 'value I, which characterizes the movement P of a body or wave X by the distance Y, by which X moves per unit time, or the value of this value I');
- management model ;
- restrictions to the management model;
- illustrations (language examples) to the management model and constraints;
- lexical functions ;
- illustrations for lexical functions;
- encyclopedic information necessary for the correct use of the capital token;
- idioms .
The number of dictionary entries for idioms is less than in traditional dictionaries, due to the fact that most of them are described by regular means - using lexical functions.
