Geographical position
The city center is located at an altitude of 1258 m above sea level [1] .

The city has a small airport. Kapiri-Mposhi is an important railway junction; the railway connecting Lusaka with Kitwe-Nkana and other cities of the north of the country intersects here, as well as TANZAM - the railway connecting Zambia with the Tanzanian Dar es Salaam .
