Logan Couture ( born Log March Couture ; born March 28, 1989 , in Guelf , Ontario , Canada ) is a Canadian professional hockey player who plays for the San Jose Sharks National Hockey League team in which he is captain. For a lockout period in the NHL, he was a player in the club of the Swiss National League Geneva Servette .

Game career
In May 2005, Couture was selected at the OHL Draft under a common 12th number by the Ottawa 67 team. In his first season at Sixte Sevens, Logan scored 64 points in 65 games, becoming the third highest after John Tavares and Sergei Kostitsyn . [1] The following season, Couture was selected for the OHL national team to participate in the 2006 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge , replacing Jordan Staal . [2] He was also selected for the OHL All-Star game and won the accuracy shooting competition. [3] Logan completed his second season at Ottawa, scoring 78 points in 54 matches. The couture was selected under the general 9th number in the 2007 NHL Draft by the San Jose Sharks team.
In the 2007–2008 season, Couture reduced its performance by gaining 58 points in 51 matches. In 2008, he was again selected to participate in the OHL All-Star Game, but was unable to take part in the match due to an injury. [4] The following season, Logan finished 9th in the league in terms of performance, gaining 87 points in 62 matches.
On October 25, 2009, Couture made its debut in the NHL against the Philadelphia Flyers . [5] He scored his first goal in the NHL on November 5, 2009, in a match against Detroit Red Wings . On April 22, 2010, Logan scored the first two goals in the playoffs against Colorado Avalanche in the fifth match of the Stanley Cup playoffs .
The couture was part of the Worcester Sharks success in the 2009–2010 season, scoring 20 goals and giving 33 assists in 42 matches. He was the leader of the league in winning goals, distinguished himself 9 times and was selected to the AHL rookies team at the end of the season. Logan was also selected in the starting five of the Canadian national team for the match of all AHL stars.
Couture finished his first full season at Sharks with 32 goals (second among beginners) and 56 points (also second). At the end of the season, he was nominated by Calder Trophy .
On August 26, 2011, Logan Couture extended the contract for 2 years, in the amount of $ 5.75 million until 2014.
In the 2012/13 season for the lockout period, Couture performed in the club of the Swiss National League Geneva-Servette [6] [7] .
In February 2014, he extended the contract with Sharks for 5 years in the amount of $ 30 million. [8]
In the 2015/16 season , San Jose reached the Stanley Cup finals , where he lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins 2–4. Logan Couture became the top scorer in the playoffs, gaining 30 points in 24 games.
According to the results of the regular season 2017/18, he scored 34 goals, setting a personal record and for the first time becoming the best sniper of San Jose.
September 12, 2019 was appointed captain of the San Jose Sharks. [9]
