Olovi ( Czech: Oloví , German: Bleistadt ) is a city in the west of the Czech Republic , in the Sokolov region of the Karlovy Vary Region .

Content
History
The first mention dates back to 1523. Since 1561 it became a royal mining city. Since the 19th century, the glass industry has been developing, whose products have been exported around the world. Glass traditions have been preserved even today: refractory glass and car mirrors are produced in Tin. The status of the city was received on January 23, 2007. Of the sights it is worth noting the church of St. Michael (1902), which is declared a cultural monument. Near the city there is also the nature reserve V rašelinách , which was founded in 1990 to preserve peat bogs with a characteristic undergrowth.
Geography
It is located about halfway between the cities of Sokolov and Kraslice , on the banks of the Svatava River, at an altitude of 482 m above sea level [2] . The city is surrounded by spruce forests.

The population according to 2012 is 1875 people [3] .
