Greer became an honorary professor of English literature and comparative studies at the University of Warwick ( UK ) after retirement, is the author of several famous books. The most famous of them is Eunuch Woman , which, after publication ( 1970 ), became an international bestseller, making Greer a celebrity.

Greer's ideas are controversial. Belinda Luscombe in the pages of Time magazine called her "an absolute Trojan horse , beautiful and smart, built to penetrate the seemingly impenetrable stronghold of the patriarchy and let us in, infantry."

Literary work

Greer raises the question: what do the differences between the sexes mean and what effect do different chromosomes have. This issue is reflected in the work of the cognitive neuroscientist Cordelia Fine , who reports in the book “Gender Mistakes” that conclusions about the differences between the male and female brains are premature.

Germain Greer deconstructs the idea of femininity and the concept of feminine, arguing that women fulfill men's fantasies about the role of their gender. The book was written before the introduction of the Sex Discrimination Act in 1975, but remains relevant today. [four]

Greer's work focuses not only on feminism, but also on the environment. She has created more than 20 books, including The Whole Woman (1999), Shakespeare's Wife (2007). Greer was engaged in the restoration of the rainforests of Australia. In 1989, Germain worked in Cambridge as a special lecturer, but was involved in a scandal with a transgender colleague, for which she was called "a sister without fraternal feelings." [5] [6]

She also worked as a columnist for media such as The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, The Spectator, The Independent, and The Oldie.
