Mogitich, Ivan Romanovich

Ivan Romanovich Mogich ( January 22, 1933 , p. Podleski - June 4, 2006 , Lviv ) - People's Architect of Ukraine ( 1996 ), Director of the Ukrainian Regional Specialized Scientific and Restoration Design Institute " Ukrzapadproektrestavatsiya ", Member of the Committee on the State Prize of Ukraine in Architecture [1 ] , Laureate of the State Prize for Architecture, awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine [2] .

Specialist in the study and restoration of historical and cultural monuments of Western Ukraine. More than 130 monuments owe him his modern look, including Olesky Castle , Manyavsky Skete , St. Yuri in Drogobych, the Church of St. John the Baptist in Lviv, the Church of St. Panteleimon near Galich.

Biography

Ivan Romanovich Mogitich was born on January 22, 1933 in the village of Podleski of the Dolinsky district in the family of Evdokia Kobrin (1895-1969) and teacher Roman Mogitich (1890-1956). In 1950 he entered the Lviv Polytechnic Institute at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. After graduating from the institute in 1955, he worked in Lviv as an engineer and foreman. In 1961 he moved to Kiev . Since 1964 he became the chief architect of the Lviv restoration workshop.

He died on June 4, 2006 and was buried at Lychakiv Cemetery , plot number 56.
