Wine Mountain (Vinakalns - Latvian. Vīna kalns ) - vine plantations in the town of Sabile in Latvia . The area of vineyards is about 1.5 hectares. The top of the mountain is about 34 meters above the level of the Abava River. The wine mountain in Sabile is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the northernmost vineyard in the world (subject to two criteria: the vineyard still grows and is grown in the open).
The Sabile vineyards on Vinnaya Gora were originally created by the Germans in the XIV-XVI centuries, later fell into decay, but were completely restored in 1936 .
