Biography
From 1905 until 1920, he fed the Old Believer community in Odessa [2] .
In 1920, in connection with the revolution, he emigrated to Romania [2] .
Since 1931 he has been a priest in Chisinau . He had the rank of archpriest . Among other things, he was a professional icon painter who left not only a good memory in the places of pastoral service, but also the creations of his pious art [2] .
On July 15 (28), 1935, in Vilkovo, with the participation of almost all the clergy of the diocese and the assembly of thousands of people, he was ordained bishop of Ishmael .
After this, the Bessarabian Old Believers requested permission from the Romanian government to convene the Consecrated Council. At the council, held in May 1936, it was unanimously approved at the Izmail department, and his predecessor, Bishop Feogen, was finally removed to retirement.
The consecrated Council, held on June 12 (25), 1939 in Braille, elected Bishop Siluyan as Metropolitan Belokrinitsky. On June 26 (July 9) of the same year, he was elevated to the rank of Metropolitan .
Soon he fell ill and fell into bed.
At the end of June 1940, all of Northern Bukovina , including Belaya Krinitsa, withdrew to Soviet Russia and on June 17/30, in the evening, detachments of the Red Army soldiers suddenly appeared in Belokrinitsky Monastery.
On July 21 (old) of the same year, a meeting of bishops and clergymen took place in the Slavsky Monastery , on which it was decided to establish the Metropolitanate Department in the city of Braila , leaving behind its former historical name - Belokrinitskaya. Metropolitan Siluyan settled in the city of Braila , where the disease did not let him go.
Collaborating on the third day of Christ's birth, he quietly died on the eve of the Epiphany of the Lord, on the morning of January 5, 1941. The burial took place on January 11 and was buried in the general Old Believer cemetery.
