Vesselsat 1 is a Luxembourgish navigation satellite . The first satellite manufactured by LuxSpace in Luxembourg on Orbcomm’s order was launched in India by the PSLV -CA18 rocket from the Sriharikot space center along with three other satellites. The microsatellite of cubic shape with edges of 30 cm and a weight of 28 kg is equipped with an Automatic Identification System (AIS) transmitter and is designed to track the position of ships. Three Vesselsat satellites after a series of tests will be included in the grouping of 18 Orbcomm satellites of the second generation.
