The Republican Festival of National Cultures is a festival that is held every two years in Grodno ( Belarus ) and in which up to 140 nationalities take part [1] .

History
In 1996, the I Republican festival of national cultures was held. On May 25-26, 11 national cultural and educational associations took part in the festival - Ukrainians , Russians , Poles , Jews , Tatars , Armenians , Moldavians , Lithuanians , Azerbaijanis , Koreans , Germans [2] . There was also a delegation from the French twin city of Limoges [3] .
The next, II Republican Festival of National Cultures, was held in 1998 , coinciding with the celebration of the 870th anniversary of Grodno and the 600th anniversary of the settlement of the Tatars in Belarus [2] . The festival was attended by 26 creative groups, which represented 15 national-cultural public organizations [1] .
The III Republican festival of national cultures received the status of "All-Belarusian" [1] [2] . Within the framework of the festival, 9 festivals of Polish song were held, 5 - art of the Ukrainians of Belarus, 4 - Jewish culture [1] . The jury of the festival was led by People’s Artist of the Republic of Belarus, State Prize Laureate Mikhail Drinevsky . The square "Friendship" [1] was laid.
On February 17, 2001, the IV Republican Festival of National Cultures started in Minsk, and in June 2002, the final events took place: the dance festival "In a round dance of friends", the poetry festival, the festival "Fashion without Borders", the youth program "Rhythms of Different Nations" [1] .
The V Republican festival of national cultures was held in accordance with the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus [2] . The organizing committee was headed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Sidorsky [1] . At the regional stages of the festival, participants represented 66 settlements - 38 cities and 28 villages [2] . Such groups as the Tsitovich State Folk Choir, the Pesnyary State Ensemble, the Warsaw Brass Band and the White Dews Song, Music and Dance Ensemble performed at the festival in Grodno [1] .
During the VI Republican festival of national cultures dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the victory of the USSR in World War II, an Agreement on cooperation was signed between the " House of the Peoples of Russia " of the All-Russian public organization " Assembly of the Peoples of Russia " of the Russian Federation and the State Institution "Republican Center of National Cultures" of the Ministry Culture of the Republic of Belarus [1] . The festival was joined by the international public association “Belarusian-Palestinian community”, the Kazakh association “Al-Meken”, the amateur association “Round dance” [2] . The festival program included 46 events [2] .
On the main street in Grodno, during the VII Republican Festival of National Cultures, 57 groups passed, uniting people of 27 nationalities [1] . The rally was attended by Belarusian Bulgarians , Indians , Palestinians , Kabardians , Balkars , etc. [1] During the festival in Grodno, 38 events were held [1] . There were 27 national courtyards in the festival [1] .
The representative of UNHCR in Belarus, Cholet Safavi , who had a separate exposition, praised the VIII Republican Festival of National Cultures [4] :
