Short Biography

Born on November 9, 1975 in Nizhny Novgorod . Lives in a suburb of Los Angeles , Irvine . She graduated from the Law Faculty of UNN . Worked as a lawyer and corporate lawyer; In parallel, she collaborated with television and wrote articles for newspapers and magazines.

The first work of art, Fish in a Teapot, was co-written with Anna Kapranova and was published in 1998 in the Do It Yourself newspaper. In 2001, two of their stories - “The Coffin with Music” and “Gentle Ear Attraction” were published by Eksmo Publishing House.

Since 2002 , lives in the United States .

In 2006, she created an educational online resource for Russian-speaking writers, "Writer's Handbook."

From 2006 to 2008, Baryakina acted as an independent literary agent specializing in the rights to translate foreign works into Russian.

In 2010, the Ripol Classic publishing house published the novel White Shanghai, which tells of the White Guard emigration to China. In October 2011, his prequel, the novel “Argentinean,” was published, in which the Civil War in Russia is considered from various points of view - white, red, ordinary people, emigrants, Chinese mercenaries, British volunteers, etc. The third novel in the series, “Prince of Soviet” , which tells about foreign journalists in Moscow during the NEP , was published in 2016 by Eksmo Publishing House.

At the beginning of 2013, Glagoslav Publishing House (Great Britain) published a translation of the novel White Shanghai.

In 2017, the publisher Prószyński i S-ka (Poland) published a three-volume series of the Stormy Era series: novels Argentinean, White Shanghai and Prince of Soviet.
