Wisłany ( Polish: Wiślanie ) is a West Slavic tribal association that has been living in Lesser Poland since at least the 7th century . It was first mentioned in the second half of the 9th century, when the Wislans laid the foundation for the Principality of Lesser Poland, with centers in Krakow , Sandomierz and Straduva . At the end of the 9th century, the lands of the Vishlyans entered the Great Moravian Empire , and at the beginning of the 10th century they became part of the Czech Republic . [1] At the end of the century, they were subjugated by King of Great Moravia Svyatopolk I and were forced to be baptized . At the end of the 10th century, under Boleslaw the Brave, Little Poland with the lands of Wislian and Krakow was annexed to the Polish state. [one]
