1959 Brazil Football Cup ( Brazilian port. Taça Brasil de Futebol de 1959 ) - The first draw of the nationwide soccer football tournament in Brazil . At the end of 2010, the Brazilian Confederation of Football equated the draws of the Brazilian Cup [1] (1959-1968) and the Roberto Gomez Pedroza Cup (Robertan) for the Brazilian championships . Thus, the Bahia Cup, which won the 1959 Brazilian Cup, was proclaimed the first Brazilian champion 51 years later. In 1960, Bahia also became the first representative of Brazil in the newly established main continental club tournament - the Copa Libertadores .
