In the 2012 national selection - Festival da Canção - On March 10, 12 performers took part. The winner of the selection was Philip Sosa with the song “Vida minha”. The winner was determined by a total assessment of the professional jury and telephone voting of the audience; Soza received the highest marks from both the jury and the viewers. The selection organizer - Portuguese television dedicated this year's contest to the traditional fado music genre, included in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind [2] .
