SpreadAmphiprion clarkii has the widest distribution of all clown fish. He lives in the coral reefs of Southeast Asia, from the coast of northern Australia to southern Japan , from Melanesia to the northern seas of the Indian Ocean, in the Persian Gulf . Its wide distribution is explained by the long planktonic phase of the larvae, during which the larvae are carried away by sea currents.
