Biography
Vittorio was born in the Italian city of Arezzo, but grew up in Rome. He began to sing at the age of 4 years. His parents, discovering the talent of his son, insisted that he auditioned in the choir of the Sistine Chapel . After brilliantly auditioning, Vittorio was appointed soloist of the choir. For the next 5 years, he studied at the Schola Puerorum School at the Sistine Chapel [1] .
Vittorio debuted when he was 13 years old. He performed the role of Pastorello in the opera Tosca on the stage of the Roman Opera House ( Roman Opera House ), performing with Luciano Pavarotti, for which he received the nickname Il Pavarottino [2] . At the age of 23, Vittorio Grigolo has already performed on the stage of the La Scala theater, becoming the youngest performer of this theater. He also became the only Italian performer to be exempted from compulsory military service. The following year, he performed with Sting, Bruce Springsteen and James Taylor at Carnegie Hall on the occasion of the two-year The Revlon concert for the Rainforest Fund, organized by Sting and Trudy Styler himself.
Career and musical activity
To date, the repertoire of Vittorio Grigolo includes 24 operas. He regularly performs on the stages of the most famous opera houses of the world, such as La Scala , Covent Garden , Metropolitan Opera and many others.
In 2006, Vittorio Grigolo recorded his first album, "In the Hands of Love." In 2007, the second disc was recorded - “West Side Story”, and in 2010 his album was released entitled “The Italian Tenor” [4] .
In 2015, Vittorio Grigolo performed with Brian May as part of a gala evening, before the start of the show at the Arena di Verona.
