DDP ( Disc Description Protocol , di-di , English Disc Description Protocol ) is a professional interchange format used by the mastering industry to determine the content of Optical discs , including CD and DVD . This format is accepted as the main one for replication of master disks by almost all companies. The proprietary format is proprietary to DCA, Inc. , the specification is not freely available.
DDP-file contains different types of information about the disk, for example, about the file structure, the name of the artist. Only 4 parts [1] :
- Audio images (.DAT files)
- DDPID (DDP identifiers)
- DDPMS (DDP stream descriptor)
- PQDESCR (additional descriptor code)
The contents of the additional text file can also include the names of the compositions and their time (duration).
