Biography
Karl Wilhelm Ludwig Pappé was born in 1803 .
He studied medicine and botany in Leipzig , and in 1831 he moved to Cape Town as a doctor. Soon, his main interest was botany, and Papp began to conduct extensive research on the South African flora . He later received the title of "colonial botany", and in 1858 he became the first professor of botany at the College of South Africa.
Karl Wilhelm Ludwig Pappe died on October 14, 1862 .
