Vladikavkaz Car Repair Plant named after S. M. Kirov ( VVRZ ) is a Russian company, the oldest car repair plant in the North Caucasus. It was founded in 1913.

History
In 1913 [1] , railway repair workshops were opened in Vladikavkaz. During the Civil War, the staff of the enterprise restored wagons and locomotives for the needs of the army, made armored trains. During the first two five-year plans, the railway workshops were rebuilt into an enterprise. It began to repair freight, passenger and service cars. In 1941 , when the war began, the plant in a few days switched to production for the needs of the front. The plant produced special train-plants on rails for aircraft repair, and the production of bath-laundries and sanitary trains, which immediately went to the front, also increased. In September 1943, the Vladikavkazets armored train, which participated in the defense of the Caucasus, Taman, and Ukraine, was built at the plant. One of the workshops of the plant specializes in the production of 76-mm shells. The evacuated Popasnyansky Car Repair Plant was located on the territory of the plant. In the postwar years, the plant increased the production of freight and passenger cars. In 1960 - 1970, a partial reconstruction of the passenger-and-passenger workshop and the freight car repair shop were carried out. Built: mounting, gear, dismantling and roller compartments of the wheel shop. In 1973, a special tank repair workshop was built, and by the decision of the Ministry of Railways, their repair was mastered. In 1978 - 1980, the plant, the only one in the Ministry of Railways, mastered the repair of bitumen open wagons. During this period, the annual output of freight wagons amounted to more than 5,000 units, and passenger more than 500 in the volume of KR-1 . In 1985, reconstruction of the foundry began with the installation of two foundry furnaces DSP-1.5, which allowed to increase the production of spare parts for the line.
