Oberliga South-West ( German: Fußball-Oberliga Südwest ) - football Oberliga , is part of the fifth level of the German football league system ; Before the creation of the Regional Football League in 2008, it was the fourth level of the German football leagues.

History
Modern History
Oberliga Southwest is one of Germany’s seven football Oberligs. The league was made up of the football federations of Saarland, the Southwest Region and the Rhineland, the next highest ascending league is the Regional League West . The Oberliga was created in 1978 from the best teams of the Amateur Leagues ( German: Amateurliga ) - the Amateur League of Rhineland , Saarland and the Southwest . Until 2008 , when the Third Bundesliga was created, the Oberliga was the fourth most complex in the German football league system.
Since 2012, the league has been the source of new teams that will move up the league system to the new regional league “South” / “South-West” , the same will be the case for the winning teams of the Hessenliga leagues and the Baden-Württemberg Oberliga . [1] .
