Content
Geography
The village is located 10 km south of the city of Yoshkar-Ola at the confluence of the Kuyarka River in Malaya Kokshaga . Motorway Yoshkar-Ola - Volzhsk . Kuyar railway station on the branch of Zeleny Dol - Yoshkar-Ola .
History
The first house in the village was built in 1918 for the breeder. The development of the village is associated with Sretensky forestry. In 1927, a sawmill was built to produce railroad ties and sleepers. The railway station has opened.
In 1931, an elementary school was opened, in 1966 it was transformed into a secondary school. The new school building was built in 1984.
In 1941, the Kuyar sanatorium orphanage was opened.
During the years of World War II, the Kuyar forestry enterprise manufactured skis for the needs of the Red Army.
On June 1, 1956, by a resolution of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the MASSR, the settlement was given the status of a village.
