Thomas Rudolph ( German: Thomas Rudolph , June 15, 1970 , Erfurt , Thuringia ) is a German sleigh rider who played for the German national team from 1991 to 1996. Silver medalist at the Winter Olympic Games in Albertville, winner of a silver medal at the World Championships, European champion and twice silver medalist at the World Cup.

Biography
Thomas Rudolph was born on June 15, 1970 in Erfurt , Thuringia . He began to actively engage in luge at the age of eight, in 1991 he passed the selection for the national team and, together with Ives Mankel, began to take part in various international competitions. At the home World Cup in Winterberg, he won the silver medal in men's doubles, and after finishing all the cup stages, he was placed on the second line in the world ranking of the strongest riders. Thanks to a series of successful performances, he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , where he subsequently won silver. In addition, as part of a mixed German team, he became the European champion at past competitions in Winterberg.
At the 1994 European Championships in Königssee, Rudolph won the bronze medal in doubles and silver in the program of mixed teams. In the 1995/96 season World Cup, he rose to the second overall standings for the second time, replenishing the medal collection with another silver. Since the competition in the national team at that time greatly increased, shortly after these competitions, Thomas Rudolph decided to end his career as a professional athlete, giving way to young German sleigh riders.
